Producers Kelley Abbey & Louise Telford are thrilled to be bringing the esteemed Light The Way Dance Convention back to the Gold Coast in October 2026. After the incredible success of the inaugural Queensland event in 2025 we are so excited to once again gather the biggest names in the business where some of the legends of Australian dance will teach masterclasses, Q&A industry panels and more. This event has strictly limited numbers and workshops are about quality, not quantity. You do not want to miss the opportunity to be inspired and trained by our industry’s best in October 2026!

WORKSHOPS
AGE GROUPS
We will have two age groups for the convention taking place in different ballrooms. Both age groups will get to take part in 1-hour workshops with faculty members and the day will conclude with an industry Q&A panel and meet & greet session.
JUNIORS (13 years & below) – This age group will be for 13 years and below. If you have a very strong 13 year old dancer, they are welcome to dance up to the next age group – however please note that these workshops will also have pre-professional dancers in it and will be catered towards the older age group. You must purchase the Senior Pass if you want to dance up in age, you will not be able to change on the day due to space requirements.
SENIORS (14 years & above) – This age group will be for 14 years and above. We encourage pre-professional & professional dancers to come and be inspired by our faculty who continue to light the way. Get ready for inspiring workshops with Australia’s best!

This all-access pass includes over 7 hours of dancing on Sunday 18 October 2026 at The Star Gold Coast with some of the biggest choreographers and creatives in the Australian performing arts industry. If purchased as separate masterclasses you would be paying nearly $300, so this is remarkable value to get access to the biggest names in the business.
• Please note that faculty are subject to change due to our Incredible faculty’s demand in the industry both here & overseas. if a faculty member is unable to attend, a suitable replacement will be found.

• Please note, due to the licensed nature of The Star Gold Coast any dancers under the age of 18 cannot walk around the property without an adult/guardian.

The 2026 Gold Coast Light The Way Dance Convention will take place at The Star Gold Coast undoubtedly one of Queensland’s leading entertainment, dining and resort precincts. The students will be dancing on carpet in the hotel ballrooms reminiscent of American dance conventions. There will be ample room for students to spread out and soak up every moment of these leading creatives teaching & mentoring them in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
